The residents of Lot 19 have always had a keen interest in the care and education of children. In fact, it would be impossible to count the many graduates of Lot 19. Gardening is a nurturing, maternal activity as well as an intellectual and philosophical exercise. With this in mind, the property would serve very well as a daycare centre and learning garden. Given the popularity of suburban supermarkets, processed food products, and genetically modified, spot-free fruits and vegetables, itís no surprise that very few children today know where their food comes from. Why not revive traditional labour practices and have children spend the early years planting, hoeing, and harvesting on a vegetable farm?
