Lot 19 Times

ROT 19

The marshy woods at the south end of the farm have served as a sort of garbage dump for over a century. For the farmers, it was an ideal place to unload cornhusks, rotten melons, and bushel baskets beyond repair. But as new houses cropped up around the land, television sets, tires, and old mattresses also found their way into the swamp. Today, courageous explorers can find broken milk bottles, doll heads, and even an old outhouse buried in the woods at the back of Lot 19. Why not let nature take its course and turn the land into a full-blown garbage dump? An attractive fence could be erected around the property and residents of the surrounding neighborhoods could simply toss their trash over the fence. To avoid a trash pile-up at the edge of the fence, the county could provide municipal catapults; residents would enjoy hours of recreation while keeping their neighbourhoods clean.
