MERLOT 19
When the Renaud family took over Lot 19 they immediately planted grape vines. They were gardeners and vintners, selling wine to local inhabitants and wholesaling it to larger retailers. Given the booming wine industry in Essex County, the time is ripe for a vineyard in LaSalle. The land would be enclosed by tall hedgerows, vines would be imported from France, the barn would be used for processing and ageing, and the house would be transformed into a small bistro and retail outlet, showcasing Essex County’s newest and best vintage: Petite Cote du Rhone.
